I'm Tamara Hamdalla, a video producer and editor. I turn conversations, events, and complex subjects into video people actually finish — most recently a run of foreign-policy and technology programming: studio and field interviews, three podcast series, live events, and the short-form cut down from all of it.
My strongest instinct is finding the clearest way into a topic — and knowing what a viewer needs before they'll follow it.
A lot of my work is with specialized, high-stakes subject matter — foreign policy, national security, emerging technology. The trap with material like that is producing it for the people already in the room. I work the other way: I start from the audience and ask what would make someone stay, and what context they need to make sense of what's being said.
Most of what I make depends on other people being comfortable, prepared, and on the same page.
I've worked every stage of a video, which means I can plan around the edit and shoot for it — not just hand it off.
